I am calling on all extraordinary housewives to do something extraordinary!!! Who is in? Remember Lana explained to the festival of trees committee that we were a service group. Well, it is time to put that to the test. I am calling an emergency meeting tonight at my house after home evening at 9:00 pm. Lets change the lives of a family for good! Catch the spirit and meet tonight! With all of our extraordinary heads working together, we are bound to pull off a miracle - and maybe even get our chance to be on Oprah!! j/k Steph

Girls Night Out Starring Marilyn
Mel was so excited to give this marshmellow hamburger to Marilyn. She thought she was so clever and we all died laughing. It was pretty unexpected as was the acting Mel did for "the Macarena Dance!" Was it the acting or the letter line up? We love you, Mel!
We are at the start of the night and I know I (Steph) was already looking tired. Wait unitl 2:30 am and then see what we looked like! I must say when Brek stopped by he probably looked more tired than we did at 2:30. Our fun and talking lasted right through a blizzard! I know Marilyn was enjoying that for spring break. Mel got another laugh at me (Steph) as she thought my face looked fatter than hers. I know it is not the most flattering picture of me but do you really say that out loud!!!

I need some dirt...
The missionary on the left is my DARLING baby brother Jake. He is on a mission in Indiana. Apparently, his companion, Elder Graham (not the Elder in this picture), has a little sister who just got engaged to a guy from Burley named Scott Bowen. They e-mailed me specifically to get some dirt on this kid. does anybody know him or his family? I think being away from home, Elder Graham is a little nervous about who his little sister is marrying... I don't know this family, so if any of you do, please DISH!

Must read!
Hey guys I just finished reading this book. It was kind of depressing but I could not put it down. It was very thought provoking. I think everyone should read it. I know Sarah already has. It is about bullying and being bullied. It makes me want to do something - anything to stop it. I don't know what though. I think the most I can do is to start within my home teaching my kids. I hope they will treat others kindly and stand up for others. And if they are on the other side of things then I hope someone will watch out for them. Yadi, Yadi, Yadi. I am glad I have you guys as friends because I know we will all watch out for each others children. Enough already just read the book! Steph

So today as I was getting dressed, throwing on a pair of jeans that seemed a bit tighter than the last time I wore them, I decided my jeans have way too much power over me! They can make me feel great about myself on a particular day, or they can make me feel like I need to go on a diet!
Don't you love it when you put on a pair of jeans and they are a little loose or baggy on you...for sure a little bit looser (is looser a word?) than the last time you wore them? Of course, I never take into account the fact that I have probably worn the jeans at least 5 times without washing them, and each time I wear them, they stretch out a bit more. I just think to myself, "Yeah! That exercising is paying off! These pants are getting baggy on me. I might even need to wear a belt." (Never mind the fact that I may feel compelled to wear a belt because my jeans are sitting BELOW my gut!)
However, a few days later I may put on the same pair of jeans AFTER washing them and feel like crying when I can barely squeeze myself into them! I will feel guilty every time I eat anything less than healthy, thinking to myself....that's not going to help me fit into these jeans better!
Ok, so I don't really stress that much over it once I walk out of my closet, but I do think it's funny how I may feel cute or not cute depending on the way my jeans fit me! So I have come to the conclusion that I will just never wash my jeans! Just Kidding!--Emily

Brighton
Hey gals,
It's me Mare ,ya know the one that is half Chinese? Well ,I just wanted to share a story- One of Jonah's listmates is a darling little wee one from China named Brighton. She has repaired Spina Bifeda and hydrocephalus. All she needs is a shunt and she will be good to go. She is an easily fixed situation but because she is living with a foster family in a small village in the mountains in China she is unable to get the medical attention she needs. Lana has had a crush on her forever and we are both really concerned for her. She is just like a Mia or a Ben or a Carly May! She is as helpless as one human can be BUT we can help. No, I am not trying to get one of you to adopt her (even though anyone would be lucky to have her as their daughter). I am just trying to raise a little money with a friend of mine to make it financially easier for her forever family to make the committment to bring her home. All of us are strapped right? Money is the sole reason her family has not claimed her. Money is such a small thing though as far as the big picture is concerned for a daughter /sister . She already has a 5,000.00 grant on her and all we need to raise is 2,500 more. I am thinking if all my friends skipped one single lunch we could make a difference. We take so much for granted here in our American world we sometimes think we can't possibly make a real difference for someone or change a life but we ARE extraordianry and we know we can .we know better! We built a freakin 140,000 playground for our kids. We can each give 5.00 for a beautiful little girl on the other side of the world who just needs a Momma!!! My friend Kelly has set up a website where there is a chip in button. It is super easy and if you have a paypal account it is even easier! I just donated 10.00. If this offends or annoys anyone I am sorry but you know my heart and my intentions are pure. It never hurts to do a little gabbing about something worthwhile so ......okHere is the website www.thegiftofachild.com
Have a wonderful day-By the way- Mia says hi-she's sitting on my lap singing "you are my sunshine". I would hate to think if we didn't find her . Something would definitely be missing!!

Are you okay Paula?
I know I am a little addicted to American Idol - but is anyone else? Did anyone see the final 8 boys perform? They did a good job but what I am really wondering is was Paula drunk? Did you see her talk and try to stand at the end? She was a little bit tipsy.

My Guest Artist
I just thought I would share these two photos with the world! This is my cousin Steven, he is 28 years old, and he his Autistic. I asked him to help me decorate my sons's room by drawing me a picture of something sporty. He reluctantly agreed, because he knew he would have to get in my car and come over to my house by himself. I told him he would be drawing on the wall instead of paper, he thought for a whil before finally replying and said, "that is crazy talk, who would draw on the wall?" I told him, well you will! He was a little nervous, We went to the store and I had him pick out paint colors, brushes, and pencils ( I have given him complete free will at this point), he picked out several colors, and I was really curious about what he had in mind, but it helped him relax a little by giving him the reigns over the project. We went home, and I cut out some strips of paper, about how big I wanted the drawing and kind of made a paper frame on the wall, so he could visualize how big it should be. He drew this free hand, in about 15 minutes flat, he had an idea in his head about what he was gonna do, and here it came out on my wall. We love it! He really wanted to paint the jersey blue, but my boy disagreed, he told him to please paint it green, Steven said, "why would I want to do that for?" We went through a big spill about remember your sister cheered for Burley, she wore lots of green, we want this player to be a player your sister can cheer for..... He finally said okay. He came up with this on his own,I am so thankful, Braeden's Jersey in on the other wall hanging, and it's number is one, I think that is where he came up with the number for the shirt, I think? Any way sorry for the long spill but I thought you all would be as impressed as I am.
