We Thank Thee Oh God for a Prophet

We thank thee oh God for a prophet
To guide us in these latter days.
We thank thee for sending the gospel
To lighten our minds with its rays.

Oh how I loved this man. I am so happy that he is with his wife and free from being old and tired, but I will miss him, the sound of his voice, his great sense of humor and his smile.... He was always so positive and such a champion for women. He also had a way of wanting me to be better and do better. These are a few of my favorite quotes from him:

"Marvelous is the power of women of faith. It has been demonstrated again and again in history. It goes on among us today. I think it is part of the divinity within you."

"Sisters, rise to the stature of that divinity. In that effort make the world in which you live a better place for yourself and for all who will come after you. There is much to do. There are many challenges to be met.
You sisters are the real builders of the nation wherever you live, for you have created homes of strength and peace and security. These become the very sinew of any nation. I bear testimony before the entire world of your worth, of your grace and goodness, of your remarkable abilities and tremendous contributions, and invoke the blessings of heaven upon you."

"Now, my dear sisters, that is the way with you. You are doing the best you can, and that best results in good to yourself and to others. Do not nag yourself with a sense of failure. Get on your knees and ask for the blessings of the Lord; then stand on your feet and do what you are asked to do. Then leave the matter in the hands of the Lord. You will discover that you have accomplished something beyond price."

I know with all my heart that he was a prophet of the living God. He knew that families can be together forever. He will truly be missed.
