Hey!!! Just when you thought Lana was the queen of "free shtuff" ...........well think again! I was at STOKES FRESH FOOD MARKET (plug) on Saturday and Farm Bureau was doing a promotion there. I tried to avoid anyone and everyone as I was a stinky mess straight from the gym. Well, the lady carrying dozens of helium balloons literally followed me down the aisle and asked if I would play her game for the chance to win 5.00 off my groceries at checkout or even the grand prize which was your entire cart, no matter what you had in it. I never win anything and I looked like a hag so I reluctantly said ok and tried to hurry so she would leave me alone! Well, I answered the question correctly and she made me close my eyes and choose a balloon. I did and said BYE BYE. I was actually buying some food for a new family in our ward who were just moving in and did not have a stove in yet, so in the back of my mind I thought maybe it would be good carma- maybe I'll get the 5 bucks off. Well, I popped the purple balloon and confetti went flying out of it and you guessed it......... I was the grand prize winner! My groceries added up to 129.00 and it was all free!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course, because I was looking so great they had to take multiple pictures of me with my cart, me with Steve, me with the Farm Bureau lady..... But all in all a SCORE for Mare!

Unbelievable! I never win anything. I will have you know I have to look far and wide and spend many wasted hours searching for bargains! I am so, so happy for you!!! (also maybe a little jealous and bitter :)
Lana,
Thanks for the picture you added. She looks just like me! LOL
Mare
She's not nearly as beautiful as you, but I thought it would work. Did the family in your ward get their appliances going?
Yes,
They bought a bed and a stove on Saturday. I can't wait for you to meet them. They are our age ish and have 4 boys! YEEEEE HAAAAAAAW
Mare
Way to go winner! What was your question?
The question was , How many weeks of income does it take to cover the cost of basic food supply for 1 year in the United States? The answer was 5 weeks or 37 days. Before you get impressed, it was on a paper in the literature she was giving out.So, a no brainer. I was surprised it was only that much. She said other countries it would be 6 months. We are pretty rich here by global standards.

You rock Mare! And despite all your protests, you always look fabulous, even when you are a stinky mess just coming from the gym! You should see me after I work out, then you would be proud of your sweaty self!
